Decaf Matcha Steamed Cakes Recipe
Time to make some sweets with decaf matcha! This is a super easy recipe for decaf matcha steamed cakes using pancake mix.
Ingredients
- Egg: 1
- Sugar: 3 tbsp
- Milk: 100ml
- Vegetable Oil: 2 tbsp
- Pancake Mix: 1 bag (approx. 150-200g)
- Decaf Matcha Powder: 1 tbsp
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk the egg and then mix in the sugar.
- Add the milk and vegetable oil and stir. Sift in the pancake mix and decaf matcha powder, and mix until everything is well combined.
- Line a muffin tin with paper liners or use silicone cups. Pour the batter into the cups.
- Steam over medium-low heat for 15-20 minutes in a steamer until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.

They have a wonderful texture:

with a nice chewy and moist feeling.
They’re lightly sweet,
but have an addictive, subtle bitterness from the matcha.
My elementary school-aged child loved them and gobbled up three in one go!
And since they’re made with decaf matcha, it’s a relief knowing they can eat plenty without any worries.
